about

I wrote this song both about personal frustration and an old blues legend.

Robert Johnson was one of the greatest blues artists that ever lived. He was so good that some said he met the Devil at a crossroads to sell his soul in exchange for musical talent. This is paid tribute to in my all-time favorite film "O Brother, Where Art Thou?"

I got the image of a Crossroads in my head from the Robert Johnson myths. However, this song is also about people who refuse to take responsibility and make mature decisions. It frustrates me when I see people in my own age group who cannot act like they have a lick of sense and that's what this song warns against.

lyrics

LYRICS:

I found him laying dead at the cross roads in life
He was in a bind and wouldn't clear his mind
And I found him laying dead at the crossroads in life

His family didn't weep when they found out he was dead
His friends didn't feel when they asked for his will
And nobody cried when they saw the man who died

Nobody thinks about the crossroads in life
They just want to stop and see the sights
But you'll be the next one to lose you life
If you don't take a stand at the crossroads in life
